Fun In The Mud + Outlasting The Competition!

November 21

Great Britain Military Team XC Championships
Jappas Du Preez started up his off-season speed work last week by helping his military team win the Team Corp Cross-Country Championships in the UK with a fine top-10 overall placing on the day! During the off-season we for on the power/speed first and XC racing can be a great way to get in complete a 2-in-1 workout! Very well done, Jappas!

NYRR XC Championships
Sean Laude also took place in some XC racing this past weekend at the NYRR 5k XC Championships in New York City. When the dust settled, Sean was able to have a top-10 place in his very competitive age group, all while enjoying a healthy and clean race.

Ironman Arizona
Georgi Zaitsev put his very busy 3-Ironman season to rest in Tempe, Arizona this past weekend while also producing his best ever race at the distance! Cold temperatures proved to be a tough experience for many athletes, but Georgi did what he does best, and made the best out of every situation! Onto the bike, a very steady ride, focusing firstly to hydrate/fuel the entire ride, saw him maintain his position overall to others in his age-group. Then onto the run, while not his best ever Ironman-run split, was able to pace 16 athletes in his age-group to finish 14th at the end of the day. A 25min-PR is what we have been searching for, and after changing a few things in the training seemed to elicit the change! Not to mention, due to a foot issue, Georgi wasn't able to run for about 2.5 weeks prior to the race, resigning ourselves to only pool-running. Perfect end to the season, Georgi! Enjoy a bit of time off.

Ironman Cozumel
Eddie Luna also finished his season by taking another trip to Cozumel to complete in the late season November Ironman. Due to some strong storms and winds, the currents in the ocean provided some tough conditions for the swim and tested Eddies ability to handle on-boarding of water and navigation. Surviving the swim, Eddie got to work on the bike and then on the run, able to finish the day with a 6-minute marathon PB and another strong performance! Coach is very pleased with this result after a busy year for Eddie with lots of travel and time away from dedicated training. We keep working towards the next finish-line!
