Elkhart TT Series - Iowa, USA
Bill Knoedel set an all time course-PB by over 1-minute this past weekend taking yet another win at the Elkhart TT Series in the USA. A first time he has ever ridden at 25mph, and broken the 18-min barrier over 7.5 mile course (12km) is no easy feet! We have found a great training regime so far this year, coupled with some heavy strength training and it has yielded near best power and results almost on a weekly basis! Nothing too special, just good solid hard and smark work! really well done, Bill!
Zyttern Triathlon - Switzerland
After a foray into ultra-running, Jan Tschudy was back to multisport with a solid performance at the Olympic distance on Saturday. After fighting through the masses during the swim, Jan went to work on the bike, setting the 4th fastest bike split on the day and setting him up for a good run position. With a smaller run prep as desired due to injury rehab, Jan was able to produce a very solid 10km run in 38min, finishing strong and setting us up for a good rest of the summer!
Rosana Curbelo raced her first triathlon with our squad this weekend as she preps for the Zurich 5150 in a few weeks. Giving the other athletes a bit of a headstart due to some detours on the swim, Rosana produced a very strong bike and run combo, moving up 10 spots from the swim to finish in the top-10 and learning lots at the same time! Race experience comes from racing, and that's what we are going to do more of! Congrats Rosana on a very strong first race with the squad!
Schloss Moritzburg Triathlon - Germany
Christian Pleul had a strong and consistent day at the Mortizburg Middle Distance triathlon in Germany this past weekend. A non-wetsuit swim is not the most normal, but Christian did a fine job of getting in and out of the water and then riding/running his own race, sticking to his paces and really having a solid day! It was good to get back on a postive note after a less-than-desired result a couple weeks ago! Now we focus on a few more good weeks of fitness building before Challenge Prague! Well done, Christian!
